Scottish Conservatives Top South Ayrshire Euro Poll

The Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party topped the poll in the South Ayrshire area for the European Elections, whilst increasing their numerical and share of the vote in the process. Along with three other counties and a host of positive results across Scotland, the party came third overall and saw Dr. Ian Duncan elected to the European Parliament as Scotlands Conservative MEP.

Top Conservative Euro Candidate to Come to South Ayrshire

Scottish Conservative and Unionist leader Ruth Davidson MSP launched the party's manifesto for the European Elections on the 22nd May. She was joined by the six Scottish Conservative list candidates including the party's lead candidate Dr. Ian Duncan as they released various pledges that a Scottish Conservative MEP would deliver if elected on the 22nd.

South Ayrshire Conservative and Unionist Association have welcomed the budget delivered to Parliament by the Chancellor George Osborne which includes significant changes to personal savings, pensions and taxation.

Ruth toasts freezing of whisky duty by Chancellor

The Chancellor has announced a scrapping of the alcohol duty escalator in today’s budget after being lobbied on the issue by Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson.While alcoholic drinks will now increase by inflation, duty on Scotch whisky will be frozen.
