Local Council Election Success

The South Ayrshire Conservative and Unionist Association are delighted at the results of the local council elections, where all 12 twelve Conservative candidates got elected and many topped the polls in their wards.

Lee Lyons in Call for More Foster Carers

Local Ayr, Carrick & Cumnock Conservative candidate Lee Lyons made an impassioned call for more foster carers at the annual Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party conference held in Edinburgh his week.Lee, who is a foster carer himself with his partner Linda, told conference of the joy he has had over the last decade in bringing up foster children, many of whom came from underprivileged and disruptive family backgrounds.His call follows recent figures released by The Foster Network that show there is a need for over 8,000 foster carers across the United Kingdom with 750 of those required in Scotland.   

Candidates Call for SNP Re-Think on License Bans

South Ayrshire Overwhelmingly Backs a No Vote in Scottish Referendum!

South Ayrshire has overwhelmingly backed a No vote in Thursday's referendum. The local result, which was declared at 5.30am on Friday 19th September by the local Returning Officer, showed that 58% of residents in South Ayrshire had voted to preserve the Union whilst 42% voted for separation. 

MP's Join Local Team to Save the Union

MP's Mark Menzies and Charles Hendry arrived in South Ayrshire to help get out the vote in the run up to Thursday's referendum. Mark and Charles are both pictured to the left alongside local PPC for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock Lee Lyons, his partner Linda and local activst James Sibley. 

Local Candidates Fly the Flag at the Scottish Airshow

John Scott MSP Launches Charity Referendum Ale!

Local Conservative MSP for Ayr John Scott was on hand to help launch a specially crafted ale to celebrate the referendum debate - but more importantly to raise money for charity.

Conservatives Lead Fight for the Union in South Ayrshire

Over 20 activists campaigned on Saturday (21st July 2014) at the Ayr Holy Fair to help secure a resounding "No" vote in the referendum on Scottish indepedence. Some campaigners were out speaking to voters in Ayr High Street and others were giving information to interested residents at the information stall at the Holy Fair.Whilst Better Together is made up of all party and non-party activists, Conservatives have led the campaign in South Ayrshire and many have dedicated days, weeks and months to ensuring that South Ayrshire votes "No" and Scotland votes "No".

Scottish Conservatives Announce Strathclyde Reforms

The Scottish Conservatives today launched our proposals for strengthening devolution after the referendum in September. If Scotland votes to remain in Britain, a raft of reforms have been proposed to further our devolved settlement in the document drafted by a team of economists, business leaders, academics and politicians; led by Lord Strathclyde.
